The Benefits of Bapolene
Like many products on the market seen in grocery and retail stores, plastic resin material can come in both name brands and generic brands. Name brand resin, much like name brand products, is generally associated with being higher quality, but is often more expensive as a result. Generic brands, however, tend to be more affordable but offer a lower quality product. Consumers often feel torn choosing between the quality of name brands and the affordability of generic brands; but when it comes to Bamberger’s own private label brand of resin, Bapolene, our customers know they don’t have to choose.
What is Bapolene?
Since 1967, Bamberger Polymers has provided a wide range of resin grades for manufacturers all over the world. Bapolene, Bamberger’s generic brand resin, has been around for approximately that long and has expanded to many different grades over the years. Bamberger currently offers the following Bapolene grades:
- Bapolene™ Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS)
- Bapolene™ Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymer
- Bapolene™ High Density Polyethylene
- Bapolene™ Low Density Polyethylene
- Bapolene™ Linear Low Density Polyethylene
- Bapolene™ Polypropylene Homopolymer
- Bapolene™ Polypropylene Impact Copolymer
- Bapolene™ Polypropylene Random Copolymer
- Bapolene™ Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)
“The expansion of our product line from its infancy has quadrupled,” said Mike Pignataro, Vice President of Bamberger. “It’s a very successful private label product line that’s grown immensely.”
Over the years, Bapolene has grown to be very popular with manufacturers all over the world, even amongst those who weren’t Bamberger customers to begin with.
“Bapolene has really allowed Bamberger to reach more customers,” added Bamberger’sETP Product Manager, Tara Pavlick. “Bapolene helps us provide consistency of supply while building trust. Our customers also like the association with Bamberger and the fact that they can do business with us.”
A Quality Product at an Affordable Price
What exactly makes Bapolene different from other types of resin? According to Mario Umana, Bamberger’s Corporate Director of Technical Services, part of Bapolene’s success comes from its availability to customers:
“Bapolene has availability, and we take a lot of pride in separating ourselves from the competition,” Mario explained. “We have multiple sources we can get supply from. We have access to GMB locations all over the world, their labs, and we also have competitive pricing.”
Price is also an important factor to consider when it comes to buying resin. Generic brand resin tends to be more affordable than name brand resin, which is another reason why Bapolene has been such a huge success.
“The advantage to customers is that the Bapolene label has some cost advantages. The formulation is usually the same, but there’s more cost savings with Bapolene. It’s reliably affordable,” explained Mike Pignataro.
Customers also choose Bapolene because the quality of the resin is just as good as any name brand product, but with the added benefit of it being more affordable.
“All over the world, people know the Bapolene name – it’s known for quality,” Mario Umana went on to say. “Reputation is a big part of our business, and we take a lot of pride in doing what we say. We make sure to conduct our due diligence to make sure our customers have all the information, and all their questions are answered.”
Tara Pavlick also stated, “There are many benefits to the Bapolene brand name. It’s well-known, it’s long established and respected, and people trust the name. Other generic brand names are inconsistent and unreliable.”
Customers who trust Bamberger know they can rely on Bapolene to be available, affordable, and made with the highest quality.
Plastic Resin for All Industries
Different industries often require different grades of plastic depending on their use. A major benefit of utilizing Bapolene is that Bamberger offers many grades of resins that can be used in a wide range of applications.
Mario Umana spoke about all the different industries that use Bapolene, and the strict guidelines they all need to adhere to, stating, “Each industry has certain guidelines that need to be followed. For the food industry, plastic needs to be food-safe, but all foods have different consistencies and products, etc. In medical, the product must be single source and go through many evaluations before the it is made. Everything needs to be tested thoroughly. Based on what our customers need, Bapolene can help them move forward.”
Some businesses may be skeptical of working with a generic brand resin, especially industries where there are more regulations and guidelines to follow. However, Bamberger customers can attest that Bapolene is better than most other generic brand resins they’ve worked with.
“We’ve gone head-to-head with other generic brands. When customers switch from other generic brands, they prefer Bapolene,” explained Tara Pavlick.
What’s Next for Bapolene?
Bamberger’s commitment to Bapolene is just as strong as when they first started the product line all those years ago. Bamberger continues to expand the Bapolene product line to new industries and businesses.
“We’re always looking at opportunities to expand the Bapolene product line wherever it may make sense,” said Mike Pignataro. “We’re looking at engineering products that fall under the Bapolene product line. We like to make sure there’s a continuity of supply, and we’re always considering opportunities for new Bapolene products. Bapolene is a great product line that Bamberger is committed to, and we like to keep it in our portfolio, giving our customers a choice in resin purchases at cost points that are beneficial.”
